Simple Goals for 2011

Many people claim that building up a list for one’s new year’s resolution is not ideal because you just end up breaking them… kind of like making promises only to be broken.

Personally, I have never really told myself that for this year I’ll stop X and I’ll start doing Y. But I’ve been thinking that it is probably a good way to manage one’s self. Setting yourself a goal that you should highly focus on can help in attaining those wanted goals!

I can always improve further down the road. But just so I don’t shock myself with a handful of objectives, let me give myself 5 targets to hit through the year.

1. Improve the Blog
   I have a lot of thoughts going around my head. Thoughts that I’d like to share with people because somehow, I make sense. I’ll do better in promoting this site as well as gathering resources to further propel this site to become better known than just another blog.
2. Establish Graphics.PH
   I managed to grab the domain, which is very much related to what I do. Just so you guys know, I graduated Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Arts. I love that field. And I see the potential many of us have that most of the people in our locality overlook, take advantage of, and under-appreciate.
3. Out of the Country
   This year shall be the first year that I’ll travel outside the Philippines. LOL. Believe it or not (and I know most if not all don’t), I’ve never traveled outside the country. I was fortunate enough to travel to Davao thanks to my girlfriend’s family but never outside the Republic. I don’t know… never crossed my mind as much.
4. Be more Social
   Just be more social and expand my network. Because honestly? I don’t socialize and meet new people as often as one should considering that I now live in a corporate world.
5. I’ll spend more.
   To earn more, I aim to spend more. I’ve always been the type who saves and saves without any idea what I’m really saving for. But I guess it’s better to keep the money flow rolling and be more fluid with my assets in life.

Well that’s a start. By the end of the year I should remember to look back and find myself successful in these simple tasks. If you notice, my goals are all inclined in building myself up for a solid stance… because that’s where I am at right now – in a point where I need to establish myself and my career.

I shall be leveling up my expectations and goals for the coming years to come.

Just a reminder though, that it won’t solely matter if you fill your house with coins, wear polkadotted clothes, eat 12 types of circular fruits, wear the color of the year, or whatever it may be that you do thinking it will bring you luck. You can always believe in those things and traditions, but keep in mind that unless you do anything at all, nothing will happen and you will find yourself doing the same bunch of things next year.
