Manila in 1938

Meet Manila, The Queen of the Pacific... that is if we lived in the 1930s!

This vintage video of old Manila by the Screen Traveler can be accessed via YouTube held under the videos of travelfilmarchive, which hosts other Manila-related videos of the past as well as other cities back in olden times.

It's amusing to see how all ladies wore saya and all men wore either a suit or kamisachino. It's also funny seeing how there were carabaos on the road and our 'jeepneys' back then were kalesas equipped with multiple rows then pulled by 2 horses.

And hey, we boast up Ermita and Escolta back then! The Manila Hotel seems like a very prestigous place as well that time.
