Did you know that the first aero flight done in the Philippines was done 100 years ago? Yeah! That was in the year 1911.
Anyway, annually, Clark Pampanga celebrates the Hot Air Balloon Festival and this'll be a centennial commemorative.
I've always been aware of the Hot Air Balloon Festival. Somehow, whenever we manage to find ourselves towards the Clark Pampanga areas for some kind of roadtrip, we end up being in the midst of the celebration. This, however, is my first time to actually attend the event.
You can opt to be a free spectator from outside, at the parking lots. You'll practically see most stuff from there. But of course, we opted to get a ticket and see what's inside, up close.
It was a fun atmosphere, really. So many people, not just kids, playing and running around with kites. Smiles everywhere as they try to be airborne. It was just an overall feeling of enjoyment.
There was definitely a heavy amount of visitors who came to view the celebrations but never did I feel the hassle of having so much people around me. It just seems as if everybody wants to give each other space to enjoy the view and have fun, and it's great.
It was kind of a downer though that the hot air balloons were not able to go afloat like it was supposed to due to unstable and unideal weather conditions. Props to the organizers though for giving effort and trying to inflate the balloons as far as they could. Nevertheless, it was a great sight to see hot air balloons there in front of you. But yes, the flight could've been great.
One thing to note though is how people were not allowed to go back in once the hot air balloon event finished. My brother went out to get something from the car and he called to say he and a ton of other people weren't being allowed to go back in. I didn't understand that part considering they didn't warn their visitors of the condition that people going out won't be allowed to come back it. That was kinda of stupid.
Anyway, we did manage to fly some sky lanterns, though
Will definitely try to come again next year.
On another note, I made this video compilation. It's decent enough to be shared. I need to sharpen my skills! Enjoy the video!
