Google Wants to be More Social

Robert Bunsen's Birthday marked by Google

Google intends to put a feature on its search function by adding a “+1″ recommendation method. Basically, what happens is that your searches would return “social results” that users in your network have found useful and “+1″d… like FB’s like button I assume. The aim is to put in more weight on those sites that your peers have favored.

Through the evolution of internet, Google, Facebook, and Twitter have managed to become giants in their own realms and sooner or later, they are bound to collide and kill each other by offering features that might entail the function of the other.

Google has actually tried to be more social if you’re familiar with Google Buzz, which is kind of like a Digg or Reddit type of site but I guess that ain’t much of a success as compared to the latter mentioned.

Irita kaya ako sa Google Buzz. I think they should try something else…or just work with FB. Kasi we’re still with Google pa rin naman for many services that FB cannot offer.

I never ever used Google Buzz. I doubt though that they’ll try to cook something up with FB although that’s not far from possible. But at the moment, I bet they’re aiming to kill competition and be the big thing in both realms (search and social networking)… and FB’s probably thinking the same ;p
