Why is Twilight Popular?

If you take it seriously...well, who takes Twilight seriously? Honestly, I've read all 4 novels and every time I go through the motions I feel like someone is pummeling my head with Thor's hammer (Mjolnir). Unfortunately, I am very OC. If I started reading the first book of a series, I must read all even though I don't like the book. It's a compulsion.

But at least I can offer an honest opinion (I can honestly say I find the series utterly banal). Other people just bash the books without reading them. The same can be said for the conservatives who bashed Da Vinci Code when all they saw were snippets. Worse, they only heard about the content.
