Customer Service Noobness |
You know that time when you're stuck with nothing but an option to call a CSH (Customer Service Hotline)? Well, I've been getting shitty connection for the past few weeks ever since the undersea cables incident. As far as I know, PLDT's supposed to have recovered already from it but my connection seems like it's far from recovering anything although I've seen a bit of improvement from way back then. Still, the connection ain't half as good as it was, originally.Anyway, I decided to call the Hotline last night and unfortunately talked with a CSR who didn't seem to be that "in the mood" to talk at all. Rather than waste my time, I simply said "ok just file a report because I've already done all basic troubleshooting since I've been calling you for the past few days". Today, I decided to call again. I needed to play World of Warcaft. LOL. So here I go again... calling... A girl picks up and I steadily get to the point that "I already know the basic troubleshooting methods, so please just follow up a report because this problem has been persisting for a couple of weeks now". She then asks if I was in front of the PC and I said no and that my PC was off just to save time. Still, she insists on guiding me through basic troubleshooting so she can see what's wrong. I'm like hhhmmmm maybe she could end up knowing what the problem was if it was a step by step guide so ok I put my ass in front of the monitor and basically, this is how it goes. CSR: ok sir nasa tapat po b kaio ng pc? *ME: oo. CSR: kelan po taio last na nagspeedtest? *ME: kagabi. went as low as 100kbps. CSR: ok sir ngaion po pakilog na lang po sa speedtest.net para macheck naten kung anu po ung speed nila ngaion. *ME: wala akong net at the moment ms. CSR: aok sir pakilog lang po sa speedtest pakitype po eych tee tee pee colon slash slash dobolyu dobolyu dobolyu dot *ME: wala nga akong net ms. CSR: pakidelete po ng cookies. *ME: ok na. CSR: ok na po sir? pakilog na po sa speedtest.net (wtf... aios to mai pupuntahan tong usapan nato) *ME: wala akong net ms. As in ung network icon walang globe, it says limited connection and i have an unidentified network. CSR: Ah ok po sir cge po file ko na lang po to ng report. Oh wow. That was my point from the very beginning, wasn't it? To save time from all the hassle of talking nonsense. I put down the phone to fix the no internet problem on my own. Fixed. She didn't even suggest anything regarding that matter but speedtest. *sigh* I don't want to criticize much of these CSRs, they're good people giving an effort wanting to earn and I respect that. It's just that I hope somehow they can, at least, seem more credible than people who are given SOPs to give to their callers. Tags:
